I'm proud to present to you my collection of 10 tracks I had produced throughout this year. I hope you will enjoy listening to them. A few words about selected tracks:
• SORCERY KILLINGS features wooden foley samples I recorded myself. It peaks in the second drop where the classic Mutant break kicks in and glues everything together.
• KYBALION is named after the 1908 book about ancient hermeticism. The main focus of the track is tribal percussion rhythm with a dose of spring reverb (don't confuse with regular reverb) - just because I don't hear this effect too often in drum & bass.
• BLOODTHIRST slows down to 165 BPM and its bassline stands out from the rest of the tunes here. It's the earliest track on the release as well. The track is inspired by Bloodthirster demons from the Warhammer universe.
• VOLTAN inherits the name of the Maya god of earth and drums. The breakbeats in this one are particularly ferocious (hence the name) and switch every few bars.
• RESILIENCE is a nod towards the technoid dnb style from 2005-2010 which I remember fondly. It borrows the exact rhythm that was very common for that kind of tracks.
• MISGUIDED drops below 170 BPM as well. It has the most twisted (and also hardest to follow) drum work of all the tracks on this release. The voice sample you can hear in the transition between drops is taken from the Russian animation series, "Mr Freeman".
• VALLEY OF TEARS is driven by strongly defined kick patterns and less frequent usage of snares for most of the time. It's named after the song from Lineage soundtrack that I sampled in the intro.
• HAMSA, the outro track is named after palm-shaped amulets depicting the open right hand, an image recognized and used as a sign of protection - which you will need, especially in current times.
